N-PTS110: Pro Tools 110 (Music Production with Pro Tools)



The Pro Tools 110 course provides a more detailed look at the Pro Tools 12 system on top of the knowledge you learned in Pro Tools 101. It covers all the key concepts and skills needed to operate a Pro Tools system.

The course provides the foundation for the later 200-series of courses on Pro Tools music and post production.


At the end of this course, you will be able to:

Configure your studio and session
Control Pro Tools using external controllers
Manage session data and media files
Record MIDI and audio, using loop recording
Work with time scales and virtual instruments
Work with Avid Elastic Audio
Edit and quantize MIDI and audio
Use audio editing and file management techniques
Apply editing techniques such as the use of Clip Loops
Enable, play, view, and edit automation data
Mix using sends, returns, plugins, Master Faders and Groups


Basic musical knowledge or skills are required to study this course.


   Basic understanding of recording techniques, processes, and equipment.
   Successfully completion of the Pro Tools 101: Introduction to Pro Tools course.
   English Language aptitude: speaking, reading, writing and comprehension.
   Basic Mathematical aptitude

This course allows for only 16 students per intake to secure maximum contact with the students. Each student will work on a dedicated DAW workstation during the course. Classes consist of practical hand's-on class exercises, demonstrations and assignments.

   Full time classes are presented over 4 days from 9:30 till 16:30 in the afternoons
   Part time classes are presented on two week-days per week over 4 weeks from 18:00 till 21:30 in the evenings



The prescribed course textbooks are not included in the course fee. All other course notes and material are included.


The course is presented but (not limited) on the latest version of "Pro Tools" Digital Audio Workstation Software.

In order to work remotely as well, it is recommended that students obtain their own licenses of the primary software platforms.


Everything you need to successfully complete the course is provided for on Campus during your sessions.

All enrolled students can book and use the Institution's fully equipped studios and practice room to complete their practical projects during the course.

If you want to gain more experience in music technology, excel at the software used in the course and be able to complete assessment tasks remotely, it is strongly recommended that you have access to your own DAW setup.
