Once gain Emendy puts students to the test in their Live Audio Setup Week that is done on a yearly basis with every student on campus. It has been said that this is one of the most challenging weeks and aspiring sound engineer will encounter because from ground up everything is done by the students.
Local live bands are invited to this week where students will setup the stage rig, mix the sound live and record it in one day. The first and second year students participate whilst being evaluated by experienced lecturers. Segma provided the LM array for the 2012 event and students were obligated to do everything by themselves. Before the final test students are guided by lecturers on what is expected but only a selected few walk away with great marks. Points are deducted when feedback occurs and monitor auxiliaries must be used by students to give the artists sound on stage. The recording is tracked separately where students can mx the beat to their hearts desire afterwards on Cubase.
This fun and informative week is one of the best sessions you will ever encounter at Emendy and guarantees a better understanding about live sound setup upon completion!
