The AMP students were visited by the 2012 South African Music Award Nominee for Best Female Artist, Josie Field and really opened their eyes when it comes to making it in the South African music industry. This artists was “not good enough” for Idols but received 6 SAMA nominations in 2012!

Students enjoyed various songs written by this wonderful singer and learned more about her music career plus the struggles she encountered. Josie field writes unique songs and is most definitely one of the most talented singers in the country. Students learned about her first album Mercury that introduced her to the industry in 2006. “I write the songs so I’m not limited to genres or experimenting with sounds, we produce the tracks in a way that complement each song individually.” – Josie Field.

Everyone watched in awe whilst she played her ukulele and sang songs from her wide selection of albums. “It’s not like I decide to write a rock song or a pop song. The song demands a certain treatment and that is what I follow.” – Josie. Emendy sponsored Josie field with an Audio recorder supplied by MIDI Music and the event was a phenomenal success.  “It is never easy to get going and if I can help out by continuing to create these opportunities, I intend to do so.” – Josie Field.

Check out her latest videos on YouTube and buy her songs on iTunes because this South African singer is one to look out for!
