About the course

This short course will enable you as an aspiring producer and performer to produce your own music using the latest production techniques and will provide everything you need to complete a full track in four weeks. From Drum and bass sequencing techniques to chord progressions, vocal recording and processing.  Upgrade your beat-making skills and take your track to the next level with the latest mixing and mastering techniques.

Course Curriculum

Week 1
Gain an understanding of structure and drums and upgrade your beats from ordinary to unique and diversified. Be able to sequence better drum grooves and define your own drum sound.
Week 2
Gain an understanding of Bass and Keys to create powerful chord progressions, program strong basslines and customize your sound. Take your sound from average to competitive.
Week 3
Through deeper insights into vocals, you will record high quality vocals (complimentary studio time), and enrich your production with vocal samples. Finally, add character and polish to your vocal sound.
Week 4
Export your mix after refining the sound of your beat with top tips on mixing and mastering techniques. Your beat is ready for digital distribution!

To apply at EMENDY you need to first click on the Apply button above and complete the application form. 

Once your application has been received, we will contact you and request a copy of your ID. 

Our college registrar will then be in contact to get the remainder of the documentation which includes a copy of your payees ID and proof of income. We will send you the contract to complete and the invoice for the course fee. Once we have received your signed contract your seat is secured at EMENDY for the next intake.

All course registrations close 2 weeks before the course starting date. Late registrations will be open until the course starting date at an additional fee. 

For all short courses and workshops no matric certificate is required.

EMENDY doesn’t offer any accommodation but being situated in Hatfield, Pretoria and surrounded by universities, colleges and educational institutions there are many accommodation options available. We can provide you with a list of places should you require it.
