COURSE OVERVIEW

The Pro Tools 210P course covers techniques for working with Pro Tools in a professional Post Production environment.

Concepts and skills learned in Pro Tools 101, 110, and 201 are reinforced with practical post-specific examples.

Access to the Pro Tools Post Operator certification exam requires that the User Certification exam has been passed.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

Synchronize Pro Tools|HD systems in a Post environment
Work with non-linear video in Pro Tools
Work with video tracks
Configure Pro Tools Video Satellite
Comprehend AAF Interchange within Pro Tools
Employ Field Recorder workflows
Record and edit dialog in Pro Tools
Manage your audio assets
Design and execute on Sound design
Accurately mix audio to picture
Use multiple delivery methods
 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Intermediate to advance musical knowledge and skills are required to study this course.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

   Successfully completion of the Pro Tools 101: Introduction to Pro Tools course.
   Successfully completion of the Pro Tools 110: Music Production With Pro Tools course.
   Successfully completion of the Pro Tools 201: Pro Tools Production II course.
   Basic understanding of recording techniques, processes, and equipment.
   English Language aptitude: speaking, reading, writing and comprehension.
   Basic Mathematical aptitude

   Diligence, punctuality and dedication
   An Inquisitive attitude
 

ABOUT CLASSES

This course allows for only 16 students per intake to secure maximum contact with the students. Each student will work on a dedicated DAW workstation during the course. Classes consist of practical hand's-on class exercises, demonstrations and assignments.

   Full time classes are presented over 4 days from 9:30 till 16:30 in the afternoons
   Part time classes are presented on two week-days per week over 4 weeks from 18:00 till 21:30 in the evenings
 

PRESCRIBED MATERIAL

TEXTBOOKS

The course includes the Pro Tools 210P textbook and all additional course material and notes. The Course also includes two attemts to the internationally accredited exams.

SOFTWARE

The course is based on the latest version of "Pro Tools" Digital Audio Workstation Software.

The following system configuration is required for this course:

Pro Tools|HD 2 Accel
SYNC I/O or SYNC HD
MIDI I/O or similar multi-port MIDI interface
Artists Series, C|24, D-Command, or D-Control
HD I/O, HD OMNI, 192 I/O, 96 I/O, or 96i I/O
MIDI keyboard controller

Everything you need to successfully complete the course is provided for on Campus during your sessions.

All enrolled students can book and use the Institution's fully equipped studios and practice room to complete their practical projects during the course.

If you want to gain more experience in music technology, excel at the software used in the course and be able to complete assessment tasks remotely, it is strongly recommended that you have access to your own DAW setup.
