OVERVIEW

Are you a creative individual? Do you want to create artwork that inspires people? Or perhaps you want to learn how to edit images or create art assets to be used in game worlds? Maybe you want to paint landscapes or environment concepts? Whatever your needs, if it is Digital Art related then this course is for you!

We start this Digital Art with Photoshop short-course with the basics of the Photoshop software and how to use a drawing tablet to create your artwork. We then discuss the basics of digital painting, creating your own custom game textures, painting 2D sprites and UV map painting. We cover colour theory and colour harmony, choosing a complementary colour palette, shades, tints and tones of colour and how they interact.

We also cover digital drawing basics, perspective drawing and methods employed to create pleasing compositions. We cover topics such as creating environments that appear realistic, drawing characters and working with custom brushes.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

No prior knowledge or skills in digital drawing are required to study this course.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Drawing and Sketch Ability and Skills
English Language aptitude: speaking, reading, writing and comprehension.
Computer Literacy

RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS:

A Passion for drawing and textures
Diligence, punctuality and dedication
An Inquisitive attitude
 

ABOUT CLASSES

Students will attend one class twice a week (Mondays & Wednesdays) over 8 weeks between 18:00 - 21:00

Classes consist of theoretical and hands-on practical sessions in a fully equipped computer lab.

Students may book the Institution's computer facilities during the week other than scheduled class.

PRESCRIBED MATERIAL

TEXTBOOKS

The prescribed course textbooks are not included in the course fee. All other course notes and material are included.

SOFTWARE

The course is presented on the latest version of Adobe Photoshop CC Software Platform.

Students has access to an educational discount software license of up to 60% available for download.

HARDWARE

Everything you need to successfully complete the course is provided for you on Campus during your sessions.

All enrolled students can book and use the Institution's fully equipped classrooms to complete their practical projects during the course.

Registered students qualify for up to 50% student discount on software and hardware.
